Fix your exported Webflow forms in 2 minutes

Exported your Webflow site to your own hosting and the contact form went dead? That's not a bug — Webflow's docs say it plainly: forms will not work on exported sites; you need a third-party tool. This page is that tool, with one script tag.

Why the form died

On Webflow hosting, your form posts to Webflow's backend. The export keeps the markup — the .w-form wrapper, your fields, the "Thank you!" and "Oops!" state blocks — but the backend stays behind. The form looks fine and submits nowhere.

The 2-minute fix

  1. Sign up (free, no credit card) and grab your Form's access code.
  2. Add one script tag before your exported site's closing </body>:

That's it. The script finds every Webflow form on the page (the .w-form markup your export already has) and wires it to Static Contact. Your markup doesn't change, and the parts visitors see keep behaving exactly like they did on Webflow hosting:

  • Success shows your "Thank you!" block (.w-form-done) and hides the form — just like Webflow
  • Failure shows your "Oops!" block (.w-form-fail)
  • Your submit button's "Please wait..." text (data-wait) still shows while sending
  • Field names arrive in your inbox exactly as you named them in the Designer
  • Bot protection is added automatically (honeypot + signed time token) — and spam never counts against your quota

Multiple forms delivering to different inboxes? Create a Form for each in your dashboard and add data-key="{ access code }" to the individual <form> tag.

Prefer no JavaScript?

Point the form's action at us directly and let it redirect to a thank-you page instead (set a custom redirect per form in your settings):

Moving off other platforms too?

Same play, different markup: Framer exports, Carrd forms, and Netlify Forms.
